Valley that Burns

It's been almost two months,#Kashmir is burning,as a whole, in pockets, but for sure it is.I watched droves of shoulders ready to carry their so-called hero #BurhanWani, a boy who was destined to die by bullet when he picked up a gun. I have been just a couple of months back to the #KashmirValley, around the time when #NationalflaginNITKashmir issue began.I came across areas where floods damaged a lot, i saw a lot of people telling lot of stories about how flood had affected them. Maybe my dark stubble had made them look at me, as one of their own, from their own homeland.I met muslims who wanted their homeland, i met people who are earning from their businesses in #India and they talk of # Azadi. They want help from #India, assistance from #India and the most funny part is #Azadi from India. They told me how #ArmyinKashmir was their only rescual finally,at the times of flood. Why I can't remember their heroes for so called #Azadi coming even once to ask what was it that they needed. Why didn't a #AK47 brandishing #BurhanWani with his boys come for help, come with boats, with food.If #Islam teaches God before sons, #Quran before children, it teaches help as well.I recall a video of a lady consoling another lady that her terrorist son had died as a "Shaheed" & she should not cry, after the encounter of another Hizbul terrorist who was probably her son. Why didn't these sons of land come, when more than half of #kashmir was immersed in floods.
Social media videos that instigate youth to join #Islam may be provide two minutes of fame but that fame is short-lived but death is and always was very dark. Rightly does one #MajorGauravArya say, if likes of this militant #Burhan are using guns with so precision, getting #Army fatigues, the money and training to do it, is coming from somewhere and that somewhere is #HizbulMujhaideen & #Pakistan, so these guys have chosen death obviously on their own.
. #JihadinKashmir is not a way out against anybody, it's not an answer to Army atrocities, Likes of #BurhanWani were a part of changed strategy of militancy perpetrators. #LocalMilitantsinKashmir is a formula that suits them best."Known faces-more inspiration" for other youths is even less effort some.Even after Burhan Wanis death, if we find #ArmyAtrocitiesinKashmir killing people, has anyone ever asked what are the women doing in front of bunkers,Why are five year olds standing in front, during protests. They are human shields, unknowing human shields and when killers approach you that very near where it's "Now or never" and you have a pellet gun in your hand,i am sure not even god will think about human rights.
People who talk about #Azadi have they ever thought how will the module of it ever work how will they sustain, who will save them from claws of predators like Pak & China. Why i dont want to talk about #Pakistan today is because it's the people of #Kashmir who have been infused with the thought that they can successfully think of an #AzadKashmir. Adding not much, i just have to say every #BurhanWani will & should die more brutal death by the hands of #Army because it is easy to be a commentator, sitting in designer suits ,then to be a player out there in the field.

Why Udta Punjab should not be clipped for a better Punjab

The controversy of Udta Punjab ban is not just another movie being called up for censor scissors. The movie ban how politically motivated it looks,is meant to hide a sorry state of affairs. Punjab from a state famous for sports and Prosperity among its youth has now the dubious distinction of a state going down hill with drugs and alcohol.

If someone happens to visit Punjab, it might be a little harder to look out a chemist shop but a liquor Tavern is easily visible. Liquor from social-dos like marriage etc went to become daily-doses and thus became a pocket-parasite soon. Punjabis were known as large-hearted people who knew there is no short cut to success. There hard work bore fruit and whatever they did, farming, dhabas soon rang up their cash registers. But soon the transformation towards the  "Show-off culture" tickled a dooms day for Punjab and Punjabiyat. Masculinity meant how much Daaru you can have, the second generation sons and daughters of zamindaars and well affluent families kept cars, boys had not needed revolvers(to give them a high). Even the songs of current youth singing sensations like Badshah and Honey sigh say "More-daaru-More cool-you look".

Although its not just Punjab, thats reeling under the threat of drug menace, but it has become a point where drugs are seeping in India from across the border worth hundreds of crores of rupees. Any political party whether a ruling one or a opposition one, or for that matter some new one on the block with big promises and weak implementations can not deny that it would need a lot of time and effort sieve the state clean. Punjab has become the point from where heroine flows into the party circuits of rich and famous in Mumbai and Delhi. Till a certain point this would not have been much of a problem but the drugs that flows into Engineering colleges, their hostel rooms and is used by the younger generation of today, pains you as to why one is not able to do anything.

I fail to understand what a hypocritical society we are when even a 13-14 years of kids know how to snort and we are talking about banning a movie because it affects our culture. A isolated one kilometre strip behind where i put up is generally used for car parkings and after the sun sets in one can see burnt "Foil papers" being put to good use their. The two tea stalls there are making it good  by selling a "Pudiya for paanchsau", not to mention in full connivance with whom. spend just a hour outside any BPO at night especially during the killing Graveyard shifts, you don't have to look in deep corners to see girls and boys smoking weed, snorting after its what that keeps them up and kicking.

There is no denying the fact that drugs has seeped deep into the state. One can see college students smelling whiteners to those who cant afford even taking Alprax etc, such has been the apathy of a state deep struck with drug abuse. It may be shocking but the modus operandi of drugs distribution is as dangerous as its affect, the "Pudiyas" or the small paper-packings are given as stuffing in Paranthas(flat breads) on the Parantha-Achaar stalls. Once you are addicted to the stuff you don't look for this ring it finds you itself . While the Rave party invites now acquiring a virtual mode even the drug reach from beginning to the end point has also  evolved a lot. If you are on the invited list of party hoppers at  Malana, kullu you are amongst the ones to talk about.

Keeping my self focussed to ban on Udta Punjab i cannot understand what bad social or cultural affect this movie is going to have on us . Pehlaj Nihalani who can see so much in it today was the guy who made sex-starved Indian society see likes of Juhi chawla and Karisma kapoor doing Pelvic thrusts. For god sake!!! everyone apart from censor board has moved to 21st century. If you do not give the freedom to call a spade a spade then it is better living in a total "Taliban" culture.

To clean the system let everyone see what lies in the system,it looks some vested interests want to warm their hands and thus let the fire go on. We need "Bhagat-singh-kinds" but our attitude has developed a "Not-in -my backyard"syndrome , Indians want a change but it should be someone else for them who has to be  the initiator and it can only be the youth. If Rang de Basanti brought a change for jessica lal may be this is the movie that brings something good for Punjab.

Why I think Dawood needs a bit of apprecitation

It is not just Bollywood that's so much fascinated with real life dons such as Dawood but people like me as well who think there is some scope of appreciation for him. Dawood rose from a mere "chawl-goonda" to a Bhai who ruled Mumbai, the way he liked and finally to being Indian intelligence's favorite subject.
But to understand that why I want to appreciate him is not at all a rocket science. After reading voluminous material on him & my deep research on Mumbai Mafia I came to a conclusion that this guy meant business, he was not communal. He meant money and for him it did not matter who was paying him, a Hindu or a Muslim. He saw money in things like "Palti ka dhanda"
( faking a product,in short) to conning etc. Dawood knew  the right manipulation of law & law makers. When system thought it could use Dawood Ibrahim, the fact was Dawood was actually using it. He threw the Pathans & all such gangs without holding the gun in his hand .
As I read about Mumbai mafia, Dawood Ibrahim & his trusted lieutenants I realize he knew when to exercise which resource and which pawn. As much as he lost in this Industry, Dawood knew it was important to consolidate business first in Mumbai & then across the seas.
When the right time to leave Mumbai, his favorite city, came he knew he would need an abode abroad and Dubai was an obvious choice. Dubai had the "India-feel" & it was easy to keep an eye on Mumbai. With the Don himself not there, it was now more important that his name was enough to make people cough out what was demanded of them. He knew what was the right time to fly off to Pakistan and had made ample arrangements for the same.

While Indian and many other intelligence agencies are tailing him this guy is calmly getting his children married off. He & his D company are making arrangements in best of the hotels . Journalists might be meeting him but  it doesn't seem off late that he can be behind bars.
While his role in Mumbai blasts cannot be in doubt for that reason but this guy lives a life of a free man, with a state's intelligence agency protecting him. He was the one who financed one bank of Pakistan and saved it from a collapse.

Dawood Ibrahim was a smart criminal, who had kept some big obvious names of Maharashtra politics right on his fingers. Had this guy been constructive he might have been standing on the same platform along with the likes of Ambanis and Adanis

The opinion of an Indian for his India

Lately I have been going all the activity that rocked JNU , it's effect on a common Indian like me & what does it feel when "Hindustan ki Barbadi" is endorsed just for the reason that It will go down as sympathy with a specific community. Leaders are "Baking their cakes " as some have been dormant over a long spate of time and others who have yet to develop wings in politics feel under the garb of "Freedom of expression " public platform can be well utilized .
I may be a supporter of a party right now in power but at the same time even I know this is democracy and we have opposition who will snub & rub the government but that doesn't mean by any ways "just for the heck of it". Someone is glorifying a mastermind of terror attack on country's parliament and you are supporting his seditious ways because you are opposition and against Government. Don't forget when soldiers were fighting to protect you, these guys had come especially to kill you only, especially for  those who in all their loud voices are expressing their sympathies with these elements.
How many times have these leaders cared rather how many times have organization like JNUTA & JNUSU come forward to pay respects to those who laid their lives protecting those who infant don't really deserve.Students & student leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar come for the sole purpose of looking forward to a political career . Why did the likes of Omar Khalid not realize that this country cannot be divided just because a bunch of as****les demand Azadi, may be because he knew there are "freedom of speech" supporters here.
Opinion of a simple citizen like me might not make much of a difference but these people or so called supporters of "free expression"should always remember, as a dialogue in a movie A Wednesday goes "We are tolerants by choice and  not by force" so lets together make India a better place to live in.

How a common man's Kejriwal changed to a politician Kejriwal

The time gap in my blogs has been quite long for now. All this while i have been quite observant of AAP & Arvind Kejriwal. Why i pity Arvind Kejriwal is because people saw him a man who epitomised change in politics, He along with other few were the ones who led from front the, call to change a system. Arvind Kejriwal was a silver lining for every class. The common man saw him someone within them who had what it takes to question the concerned ones.

But they say "No man is immune to infection of politics or corruption of Power" & same happened to those who had grouped to weed out corruption from the system. The group of people who had vowed to bring a change, brought it but alas only for themselves. Our man Arvind Kejriwal had devised how the road to power & politics could be tredged. While "Anna Hazare" was the best bet to make himself visible to people but Anna's theory of "No Politics" definitely wasn't. He had to tell people that cleansing the system could be done while you were into it.

There is something very strange about this party's agenda & thus about Kejriwal, their stress has always been on "offering freebies" rather then on any development. Freebies can get you votes but obviously can not make you stand  forever. Why i find Narendra Modi more promising here is whatever, political agendas they have, Modi's view on development & employment generation is quite clear. Kejriwal in contrast has used "freebies " as crutches to become C.M once more. One more thing is AAP & Kejriwal also pictured themselves as those who were themselves vulnerable, sufferers. It always looked they wanted to act against corruption if given a chance, innumerable Press conferences showed A.K's "raring-to-go" attitude against the corrupt especially Shiela Dixit. But what happened everyone knows, obviously now that Shiela is a governor law might or might never take its own course.

I always  fail to understand when i put my mind on what all he has done since he came to power, who on earth could make him understand then what is a chief minister of such an important state trying to prove if he does not ply by his official vehicle & for God sake Mr. Kejriwal doing work is way more important then wasting your time on media-attracting- jugglery. More so he made a fool of himself when all others did accept official vehicles.

He was more of nurturing "Prime-Ministerial" dream & thus came in his resignation on pretext that a messiah had sacrificed himself for the cause of his people. When his dream fell flat on their face  as he had lost Lok Sabha elections by huge margin & Delhi elections had arrived by then somethings were quite clear.

  • Come what may he had to get back to power again & thus came apologies for the previous resignation.
  • Freebies were high on agenda no doubt so was the action against the corruption.
All these combined made his thumping victory possible again. But its more of "House of cards " this time, at least  his second tenure is. All this while in his second term Kejriwal's fuel for fire has been "Modi criticism" but sadly in doing that he has lost a lot of credibility for himself & his party.

  • One peculiar aspect of A.K's personality has come over is that voices risen against him have to see the door. Prashant Bhushan & Yogendra Yadav were thrown out for raising their voices & questioning leadership & these were the ones who had actually watered AAP as a sapling.
  • Medha Patkar,Vinod Binny all those who had helped party stand up all were "shunted-off" the party for anti party work.
  • Neither does he support his MLA's & nor does he check out tainted ones.( Somnath Bharti scandal, Trilokpuri MLA).
  • How can a chief minister have a tiff with its cops & call them "Thullas", they might not be in your control but they are the ones who maintain law in your state. The Hunter has-become-hunted attitude has to stop.
  • How on earth, a Chief Minister goes to a rock concert for Youth college Elections. All the state machinery was pulled in to make the youth wing of the  party fair well in elections & that too when they cry hoarse about the same for BJP.
Though it may seem i carry a grudge of sorts against AAP but the party's prospects in Punjab are quite bright( if it definitely does not do something really weird for itself) because since congress is nowhere to be seen, AAP looks a genuine change there from the current scenario. Whatever said & done I sincerely hope AAP does not go to become one-show-wonder in future.

Yoga- Above Caste ,Creed & Religion

As  "Yoga Day", as the country & the world ( courtesy our Prime Minister ) calls it approaches ,my interest in Yoga has lately started increasing. Personally I have always been someone who has never taken interest in Yoga and thus "Asanas" have never really excited me may be . My first tryst with any kind of yoga or Naturopathy was when my Grandfather did Jalniti ( Put water from one nostril & it came out from other), basically it was naturopathy through water & when he looked into burning Sun to successfully lower his glass number. That was the time when i first tried Jalniti, honestly for first two days i thought the world had come upside down, as my eyes ears nose seemed to blast any moment but gradually it showed why it can have miracles ,i was feeling amazing and wanted to do it regularly but at that time i was a kid (whose resolve was hard to continue).

But today it is not just about me,its about a resolution that can gain momentum on this day, for an effort towards healthy life and healthy and positive attitude. Yoga does not make you just a healthy person ,it makes you a better person. The most important point about it is that you do not need a certain age to start Yoga, one can start it and it becomes a part of your life forever.

The most ironical part about India and its people is that till the time Yoga was associated with Film actors ,their beauty, it was considered to be something that bore great results!!! but now when now our Prime minister goes to U.N & gets recognition to something that bears its origin to India we call it a "Step to Saffronise" the country. I really feel pity when i see even Sri Sri Ravishankar saying that "The kind of opposition that he has seen for yoga here in India , he has not seen this even in Muslim countries". Its so disgusting that the place where Yoga originated has divided it into "Hindu-Yoga & Muslim-Yoga. Any Chants or Suryanamaskar is a Hindu Yoga, anything else can be approved for Muslims. May be we are so used to "Old Wine in a new bottle" that when someone brought our own art back to us it became really difficult for us to digest, had it been imported we would have readily accepted without raising an hue and cry.

Ministry specifically dedicated to Yoga, Natural health such as  Ayush is a great step in itself by the new government to start a new era of healthcare by the government. It should not be just the BJP-m led state government but other states as well who should promote Yoga- day with great fervor. Political leg-pulling fodders can be put to rest for a while and all of us should make Yoga-day a great success.

But there have been leaders who have shelved the generally associated tags of "obvious admiration and political mileage" like  Shri Shanta Kumar, current Lok Sabha M.P and former Himachal Chief Minister  who has been constantly serving the society selflessly through his  Naturopathy and Yoga hospital "Kayakalp" which in turn  has transformed the lives of many people through Yoga only. While the importance of Yoga gained its long due mileage now, Shanta Kumar has long been silently serving the society through this Naturopathy based  "Kayakalp"  where people from different walks of life have been treated with Yoga . The Hospital has served rich and poor without the expectation of accolades to the seasoned leader or for any votes. The point is now that world has acknowledged us as the land of Yoga let us not "Let-go" the chance and start make the rest of the world know that new India is way up beyond the shackles of caste, creed and religions.

Thanks Aruna you Died

Aruna Shanbaug’s death gave me a reason to thank god. I thanked him for ending her years of pain, I thanked God that there would hopefully be no more hell for her, for we gave her enough and the other world will be secure and peaceful for her. I could not look into my eyes because even after what happened to her still today we cannot say our mothers and daughters are safe. The truth is only when I came across Aruna Shanbaug’s rape i came to know what #Euthanasia is; our fractured, rusty system neither could give her fair trial nor could give her life a peaceful end. Euthanasia in a country like ours would remain controversial for years but what wrong had she done to live a life in vegetative state for forty-two long years.

It is an irony that her perpetrator was never accused of rape but assault and robbery and is Scot free serving somewhere else, with a changed identity and dormant guilt. While a state government agency BMC could plan to free her bed hats off to the nurses of KEM who put up three decades of selfless dedication to take care of their colleague.Shanbaug was subjected to such apathy years back but after that every passing minute in this country ensured that we made life hell for women in this country. Whether it is “Nirbhaya” or rape of journalist in Mumbai mills the wolves were always out there for the hunt. Can we really answer ourselves that why the convict later could not be traced was because the court trying him did not have his photo. May be its the lack of will to take a crime like rape and punish the criminal that such incidents crop up time and again and each time they do they are more ghastly then ever before.

I think we need to set the system right before its too late, call a spade a spade if the system has cracks don’t close the eyes. We are a part of such a system and instead of blame & accusations lets work together to make this country a place where women is not prey and men are not hound dogs.
